Zoning Department FEMA Update
October 29, 2011
The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has undertaken an initiative to modernize National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) maps nationwide.  The Town of Trenton has received a copy of the preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) for review by Town Officials, residents and property owners in the community.  The Town encourages residents and property owners located in or near floodplains to review the preliminary FIRM and FIS report.  FEMA has provided the preliminary FIRM and FIS report to the Town of Trenton to allow for comments to be reviewed prior to becoming final.  The preliminary FIRM and FIS report is available for public review in the Zoning Enforcement Officer’s (ZEO) office during regular business hours.  Questions or comments can be directed to the ZEO, Leo Boulerice (315) 240-8503.
